Ashley Madekwe and Ashley Leggat
Madekwe is a child of a mixed-race family from South London in England. Her father is Nigerian and Swiss and the mother of her is English. Her family was raised on a council estate located south of London. At the age 14she enrolled in The Brit School. She graduated with a BA in acting from The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. During her time at the academy, she performed in numerous stage productions, including The King Henry V playing Princess Katherine as well as Wuthering Heights portraying Catherine Earnshaw.
Madekwe began her acting career by starring in a movie titled Storm Damage. Since then, she's appeared as a guest in Teachers, Doctors, Casualty and Drop Dead Gorgeous. Madekwe's film debut was in Woody Allen's Cassandra's Dream (2007), with Colin Farrell. Following that she was cast as Elisha (a BBC Three drama-pilot) in West 10 LDN. Additionally, she starred in Trexx as Ollie and in six episodes of Flipside. Also, the ITV2 show Secret Diary of a Call Girl featured her in 2008 as Bambi. Madekwe also starred as the main character on How to lose friends & make people feel alienated and be apathetic, which premiered on Sony Pictures Entertainment the year 2008. Her credits in the theatre include Little Sweet Thing (by Roy Williams) and Flight Path (by David Watson).
Madekwe's US debut was in 2009, with her drama The Beautiful Life. The drama aired for just two episodes prior to being ended on The CW. In February 2011, she was cast in the role of Ashley Davenport in the ABC drama series Revenge. Madekwe starred as a regular character on the ABC drama series Revenge during two seasons. It was revealed in May 2013 that she'd quit the show after completing a guest episode in the initial episode of season three. Madekwe starred as Tituba in the television series Salem between 2014 and 2016. Madekwe and her boyfriend for many years, Iddo Goldenberg, were wed in June of 2012. They have worked together on Secret Diary of a Call Girl in the past, and Goldberg has also appeared alongside Madekwe on the show Salem.
Ashley Leggat grew up in Hamilton Ontario with a huge family. She was raised by her parents Roy and Patty as well as her four brothers, Rob, Brett, and twins Todd and Bram. The brothers of Ashley were extremely athletic and played baseball and hockey throughout the winter as well as in the summer. Her childhood was spent in stadiums and played baseball. Ashley didn't walk, instead she would dance. At age two and half she discovered Baby Ballet. Ashley began to be a dancer immediately after that. Until she graduated from High School, Ashley danced competitively in the highest divisions of tap, jazz, ballet and pointe as well as acrobatics, musical theatre, lyrical and hip hop. Top soloists at important competitions like International Dance Challenge, Showstoppers, 56-7-8 Showtime, Flash Dance, Dance, Dance, Dance which were all given to Ashley.
